Well, this is my first entry on my very own blog. I for one never thought in a million years that I would ever have a blog. As a matter of fact, I had no idea what in the world blogging even was until recently. I know I live a sheltered life. Anyway, I have decided to start my own blog because there is so much that goes on in my family and life in general that I want to be able to remember. I often say I wish I could have a camcorder going all the time to capture all of the memorable moments and since that is not very practical I have decided to venture into the world of blogging as a way to hold onto to those memories.
I will start with a little background about who I am and introduce you to my family. My name is Stephenie and I am 40 years old. I can't believe I just put that in print, but yes I have finally hit the big 4-0. My husband is Sean and he is the love of my life. We have been married for over 18 years and have been blessed with 4 beautiful children. Peanut is 17 and as he keeps reminding us will be 18 in September. Woobie is 5 and just as smart as can be. He is already reading at a first grade level. Schnooky Bear is 3 and just as funny and quirky as can be. He is Mr. Personality for sure. Then we have our sweet little Missy Miss who just turned 2 in May. She is such an independent spirit and loves to do everything by herself. She has the language development of most 5 year olds and runs the show when it comes to her big brothers. Of course we can't leave out Noni our furry daughter. She is a very lively 9 year old Siberian Husky. She is quite the character herself and keeps us on our toes as well.
We have lived in Central Florida since 1995. I work as a Nurse Practitioner 3 days a week and my husband is a Maintenance Supervisor at the local newspaper. My mom and stepdad live in the same neighborhood and help us with the 3 little ones on days that we work and lots in between. They are such a wonderful support and life would be so much more complicated if we did not have them to help us.
Peanut is starting his Senior year in high school. I can't believe it. It seems like yesterday that I was taking his picture on his first day of Kindergarten. I pray that we have instilled the Godly values that will be required for him to thrive in this crazy world we live in. He is quite the talented baseball player and will be starting is 4th year on the Varsity baseball team at the Christian school he attends as their starting pitcher . We are really hoping and praying that he will take his studies very seriously and be able to end his high school career with style. He is working part-time at a local McDonald's which has been a very good experience for him. It is teaching him responsibility and money management, although the latter is still a work in progress. He isn't the greatest money manager and saving money is a somewhat foreign concept right now. He just keeps saying he will start with the next paycheck. I am still waiting.
The three little ones are so sweet together. They are such good friends most of the time. They love each other so much. They love biggest brother too, but he isn't around the house much these days between work and his girlfriend!!! We will be homeschooling the three little ones and are in the process of trying to figure out the best way to tackle this awesome task. We are committed with Grandma and Grandpa's support to train our three youngest ones at home as we feel this is the way God would have us to raise them up.
Well, you have now met the family. My hope is that I will blog everyday or almost everyday to share our lives with you as well as a way to keep a diary of our lives for us to look back on and remember for the years to come.
